How We Review
Most "best of" lists online are ranked by commission, not merit. Veniquea works differently, and this page explains exactly how, so you can decide how much to trust us.
What we do
For every product we cover, we read the full ingredient list and compare it against what the marketing claims. We check the actual concentration and form of key actives (for example, whether a "vitamin C serum" uses pure L-ascorbic acid or a gentler derivative, because they behave very differently). We compare each product against its direct competitors in the same price band and for the same skin concern. And we aggregate what verified buyers consistently report, texture, white cast, stickiness, scent, pump quality, weighting patterns over one-off reviews.
"We tested" vs "we researched"
We only write "we tested" when a member of the desk has actually used the product. Everywhere else we write "we researched" or "we compared". We will never pretend to have hands-on experience we don't have, that is the fastest way to lose your trust, and it is against our editorial rules.
What our score means
The Veniquea score is a single editorial judgement from 1 to 5 (in half-steps) that reflects formulation quality, value for money in India, and how well the product delivers on its core promise for its intended user. It is our opinion, not an aggregate of user ratings, we never invent star counts or review numbers. A 4.5 means we'd recommend it enthusiastically to the right person; a 3 means it's fine but beaten by something else on this list.
- 5.0, Exceptional; hard to beat at the price.
- 4.0–4.5, Strongly recommended for its intended user.
- 3.0–3.5, Solid, but out-performed by a pick above it.
- Below 3, We'd steer most readers elsewhere; we usually just don't cover these.
Update & correction policy
Beauty products get reformulated and prices move constantly. We revisit our guides and update the "Last updated" date honestly when we change something meaningful, we don't bump the date just to look fresh. If we get something wrong, tell us and we'll correct it promptly and visibly.
What we don't do
We don't publish sponsored placements dressed up as opinion, we don't accept payment for a good score, and we don't make medical claims. We're a shopping-and-skincare resource, not a substitute for a dermatologist.
